Glenn L. Widom, P.A. Partner Helps Raise Over $400,000 for Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America

The 2009 Mellon United Keymorada Invitational Fishing Tournament to benefit The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, co-chaired by Partner Glenn Widom, raised more than $400,000, for the second consecutive year. Along with its Sponsors, over 314 law firms throughout Florida and the United States “hooked up” with CCFA to help raise awareness of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. The 2009 LexisNexis Keymorada Law Firm Challenge Champion was Grossman Roth, P.A., for the fourth consecutive year.

The Tournament is the brainchild of Glenn and his brother Mitch, who have co-chaired the event since 2005 after Glenn’s niece, Taylor, was diagnosed with Crohn’s. In only five years, thanks to the incredible support of the Tournament’s Sponsors, Participants and Guides, the Keymorada has raised over $1.7 million for the CCFA. It has also been honored for the last two years at CCFA’s national convention in New York as “The Most Unique Event in the Country.”

Chris Hamaway of New York is the 2009 Krieger Keymorada Grand Champion and in addition to his trophy and beautiful Kreiger Tidal Wave Chronometer, received an invitation to the prestigious IGFA Championship Series. After taking 2nd Place in 2008, Captain Steve Leopold, who charters out of the Holiday Isle Resort, was awarded top honors as the 2009 Keymorada Grand Champion Guide.

The Tournament is held each year during the second week of May. This year’s event was hosted at the beautiful Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key, FL, .
