Glenn L. Widom Managing Partner
Glenn L. Widom holds the highest AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell® and has been practicing law for over 17 years. Glenn’s primary areas of practice are general and complex litigation of business disputes involving real estate, insurance coverage, contracts, corporate control, commercial fraud, construction, commercial collections and business transactions. Glenn has represented Trustees and Receivers of insolvent and/or failed businesses, conducted investigations and brought claims arising from related fraudulent conduct. He has defended numerous individuals and corporations in criminal investigations and prosecutions involving allegations of mail and wire fraud, securities law violations, health care fraud, bank fraud, and Lacey Act violations.
Glenn has tried cases in both federal and state courts to judges and juries, prosecuted appeals in Florida’s Third District Court of Appeals and in the U.S. Eleventh Circuit, mediated disputes, and arbitrated before the American Arbitration Association. He is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of the United States.
Glenn’s litigation practice has also included matters involving class actions, antitrust, securities law cases, and white-collar criminal defense at the law firms of Silver, Garvett & Henkel, P.A. (2004-2009), Zuckerman Spaeder LLP (2002-04) and Hanzman & Criden, P.A. (1994-02).
Glenn is a proud Florida Gator, having obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Major: Finance, with honors) from the University of Florida in 1984. He attended law school at the University of Miami where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree cum laude in 1994. Between college and law school, Glenn was a banker, serving as Vice President of mortgage lending and loan servicing for Citizens Federal Savings & Loan (1986-90), where he supervised its mortgage operations in five states. Before joining Citizens, he was a loan officer with Commonwealth Savings & Loan (1984-86).
Glenn is a member of the Miami-Dade County Bar Association and various other professional and charitable organizations, including Lawyers for Children America. Glenn is the Co-Founder and Chairman of the annual Keymorada Invitational Fishing Tournament (keymoradafishing.com) which event has raised over $2.5 million since 2005 to benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He has been a member of CCFA’s Board of Trustees since 2007 and was elected to its Executive Board as Treasurer in 2009. Glenn is also on the Board of Directors for Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest, Florida and Co-Chairs its Communications Committee. In 2009, Glenn joined the Board of Directors for the Steven E. Chaykin Fellowship Trust, which funds an endowed fellowship at the Center for Ethics and Public Service at the University of Miami School of Law.
Glenn is married with two children and is an avid fly-fisherman.
