The 2013 Sabadell Keymorada Invitational Fishing Tournament has raised more than $500,000 to benefit The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, and the Elaine & Sydney Sussman Crohn’s & Colitis Clinic at the University of Miami.
The Tournament is the brainchild of Glenn and his brother Mitch, who founded and have co-chaired the event since 2005 after Glenn’s niece, Taylor, was diagnosed with Crohn’s. In only nine years, thanks to the incredible support of the Tournament’s Sponsors, Participants and Guides, the Keymorada has raised over $3.5 million for the CCFA.
Mitch Howell of Ft. Lauderdale is the 2013 Keymorada Grand Champion and in addition to a beautiful trophy from King Sailfish Mounts received an invitation to the prestigious IGFA Championship Series. Captain Steve Leopold of Yabba-Dabba-Doo out of the Postcard Inn (formerly Holiday Isle Marina) in Islamorada, received top honors as the 2013 Keymorada Grand Champion Guide. The Top Fly Angler was Robert Balogh of Miami. Top Fly Guide honors were taken by Captain Brian Esposito of Ft. Lauderdale and Jeanna Schall was the Top Woman Angler.
The Tournament is held each year during the second week of May. This year’s event was hosted at the beautiful Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada.
